Halifax Fire Alarms
We are approved designers, installers, and maintainers of British Standard fire alarm systems.
Providing fire alarm services for Halifax and neighbouring areas. Choosing a category for your alarm system is not usually the responsibility of the fire alarm designer. This should be determined via your fire risk assessment and other interested parties such as insurers, building control or fire and emergency services.
We can design systems to any of the following categories: L5, L4, L3, L2, L1, P1 and P2,. Fire alarms can meet BS5839:2002 part 1 (commercial) or BS5839:2004 part 6 (domestic) or mixed grading. Mixed grades are employed in buildings such as Houses of Multiple Occupancy (HMO’s).
All certification is provided: design certificates, installation, commissioning, verification and maintenance.
We are the local fire alarm installer perfectly positioned to take care of all your fire protection needs.
Here at Halifax Fire Alarms we are qualified in all aspects of fire alarm design and installation i.e. system design, installation, commissioning, verification and maintenance.
All quotations are free and without obligation and can be carried out at a time to suit you.
In addition to design and installation we also maintain fire alarm systems and are happy to takeover existing systems offering very competitive quotations.
It is a legal requirement, under current fire-safety-legislation, to carry out weekly testing of the fire alarm and to subsequently record such tests. For those who are either not confident to do so or simply don’t have the time we offer weekly testing services.
A recent change in legislation has been overlooked by many fire alarm companies but can effect your legal standing. BS5839 requires that detectors on escape routes should be smoke detectors primarily so long as their use would not cause false alarms; in which case the slower detecting heat detectors may be used. In public places (pubs, restaurants etc) then heat detectors were mostly used due to public smoking. Since the introduction of the smoking ban these detectors should be changed.
